buySe has arrived!
Monday 06th June 2011
The ground-breaking national directory for social enterprises has now launched, with the aim of making it easier than ever to trade with businesses that exist to make a difference to communities and the environment.
The new website – www.buySe.co.uk – has been developed by Social Enterprise West Midlands, in response to a clearly identified need to enable social enterprises to promote their products and services, and crucially, enable anyone to find them.
Ranjit Bansal, Marketing Manager, SEWM has been leading on the development of the innovative website. She said:
“Latest figures suggest there are around 62,000 social enterprises in the UK, but the number one question we get asked is, ‘Where are they?’ There have been many attempts at launching trade directories trying to address this issue, but they have never really achieved what the consumer and supplier need.
“BuySe as a ‘public facing’ user-friendly business directory that we hope will become the number one destination for anyone looking for social enterprise suppliers.”
The site also lists tender and job opportunities, and enables consumers to post customer reviews and receive regular updates on new business listings.
It is hoped that the directory will boost recognition of the Social Enterprise Mark, the national brand and identifier for social enterprises. Mark holders can display the logo on their business profiles, proudly showing their social enterprise credentials and benefit from additional search filters.
A full national marketing campaign is being planned, with the immediate focus on getting the site populated with social enterprises across the UK. A 12 month business listing costs £99, with additional discounts for members of selected networks and trade bodies*. Visit www.buySe.co.uk today to list your social enterprise in the directory.
* Social Enterprise members of the following networks are eligible for a 10% discount on advertised charges: Social Enterprise Coalition, Social Enterprise Mark holders, Co-operatives UK, Locality, Social Firms UK, Social Enterprise West Midlands, Social Enterprise East Midlands, SE2, Social Enterprise London, Social Enterprise East of England, RISE, Social Enterprise Yorkshire & Humber, North East Social Enterprise Partnership, Social Enterprise North West, Scotish Social Enterprise Coalition, Welsh Social Enterprise Coalition, and Social Economy Network (N.
